I’d finally get a digital copy of Solzhenitsyn’s Cancer Ward. I’ve been putting it off, as you can’t use coupons and I can’t really justify buying it when I have a physical copy. I have adored that book since I was about 14, so my (Dad’s) copy is somewhat worn. If I won first prize, I’d go all out and buy the entire series of A Song of Ice and Fire, as I’m just about to finish the second book, and desperately need to find out what happens next! If I had anything left over, I’d get the second book in Trudi Canavan’s Age of the Five trilogy, as the first was fantastic.

First on my wish list would be The Apocalypse Codex by Charles Stross, then I’d consider adding more from Stross. If possible I’d like to add some books by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky if they are available, I love Roadisde Picnic so I’d like to try some of the other books they wrote, but they’re hard to find in paperback or hardback. I also liked the first two books in the Ringworld series by Larry Niven, so more of his books would be on my list as well.

  • drhoovey

I have this theory that some of those doorstoppers that intimidate me might be easier to tackle in ebook form in that every time I read I won’t be confronted with the heft of all those pages ahead. So I’d like to try something like Nicolas Kazantazakis’ The Odyssey: A Modern Sequel and maybe the Neal Stephenson Baroque Cycle…but there’s shorter stuff too..I’m a big fan of older SF and I’m glad that works of writers from the 60′s and 70′s, writers like Brian Aldiss and John Brunner are available as ebooks.
