Amazon sold out of Kindle 3 WIFI and 3G

Its the holiday season quickly approaching again and e-readers are one of THE gifts on the wish list. If you are thinking of buying a Amazon Kindle WI-FI or the Kindle 3G, you are out of luck dealing with Amazon.

Amazon’s website says both models of their popular Kindle 3 e-Reader is sold out, and estimates shipping to take up to seven weeks, with all orders being shipped after December 25th. They also limit your orders as well, to only being able to purchase a maximum of 3 units.

Although Amazon is sold out, there is still a few retail locations in the USA that have the Kindle in stock, but will quickly sell out in the coming weeks. If you live outside of the USA you can still order them online with our retail partner Shop e-Readers. Each e-reader comes with instructional DVD and 100 Free Classic eBooks.

    Hrm, we also checked and they seem to be back up, but are limiting purchased to 3 units max, We checked from Canada, you confirmed the USA? Maybe it is just not shipping anywhere else. Or maybe amazon just got extra units because there was a shortage and instead of them shipping them to retail stores, maybe they just hoarded a bunch. We will have to investigate this.

    I have one and it does not come with a d.v.d and 100 free classics.

    According to my information, this is incorrect. Amazon still has both models available.

    Currently they show in stock with the following disclaimer

    Want it delivered Tuesday, November 23? Order it in the next 25 hours and 57 minutes, and choose One-Day Shipping at checkout.

    So sometime Tuesday this week it will probably not be possible to get one for Christmas, unless they get another delivery :-)

    On the last screen of checking out the product, it will say in small letting that you will get it in 5 to 7 weeks, or after christmas. You see it for sure, when you are checking the item out and after you selected the shipping method.

    I was told last night that kindles are in stock but will not be shipped out for 7-9 weeks at the earliest
