Barnes and Noble Nook for iPhone is available

Barnes & Noble has recently launched their new E-Reader App for the Apple iPhone. They also have updated their image and brand, from now on all of their Android, Apple and other Applications will be called “Nook.” So you will have Nook for your PC. The new NOOK for iPhone gets the same iPad customization, together with last-page-read sync across ebooks also being viewed on the PC, Android, iPad and iPhone apps, and access to the Barnes and Noble eBookstore and digital library.

There’s also plenty of reading preference settings, such as themes suited to day or nighttime reading, and B&N’s LendMe system is also supported. So you can lend ebooks to family and friends. One of the new features for this application that will be out in the next update, will be a book rating system. So users can update their 5 star ranking for books, simalar to the Nook for iPad.

Hold off on deleting your old B&N eReader app because the new “Nook” iphone app is full of bugs. Bookmarks aren’t saved, the syncing doesn’t work, fonts and margins are either too small or too large, just to name a few.
It looks promising an dis worth a look, but continue your reading with the old app.

I did not like the Nook for iPhone anywhere near as well as the B&N eReader. The margins are all wrong so you don’t get as much text per page, the conversion for day to night reading is difficult to get to. (with eReader it’s just one simple button to switch between.) Also the Nook as very slow to turn pages if you’re trying the flip back or forward multiple pages quickly.
But now all of a sudden my eReader can not see my On Line Library. What’s up with that???

I also experienced the same thing with my B&N eReader for my iPhone. I just bought a book today on bn.com. But when I go to my eReader app and try to download the book, it doesn’t see any new books pending download. I haven’t had any issues downloading ebooks to my eReader in the past…

I loved the old reader. But you can no longer load new books on it. They all go to the nook. They also removed the auto scroll function which I used often.
