Unfortunately this device is not suitable for musicians at all due to lack of Bluetooth.

You have to be able to use Bluetooth hands free page turner/pedal while playing the musical instrument with BOTH hands.

It baffles me how such a simple and cheap component doesn’t get into the device such as A4 ereader.

Thousands of musicians are using tablets…

  • I just noticed you don’t mention the Wi-Fi class in your specs on Indiegogo. I assume it’s at least 802.11b/g ?

  • I assume there are no such things using Wi-Fi instead of Bluetooth? I’d be curious to see if you could hook up the PageFlip Firefly via USB in this case. I bet we could.

(Funny though, while I do see that PageFlip and AirTurn are all the rage, I had no problem whatsoever turning good old paper pages manually when I played music a while back… I guess I can see the improvement for pianists who are in the process of learning a piece, but requiring it to function seems way overkill to me.)

Some people have been more creative: https://mbarabasz.wordpress.com/2013/11/20/kindle-remote-page-turner/ this guy uses a camera shutter remote going through his smartphone as a proxy to his Kindle’s Wi-Fi. I don’t think I’d rely on such a complex setup while performing.

Page flipping speed will be a problem.

For editing scripts, a Surface or Surface Pro with StaffPad will blow this out of water.

Page turn speed on Netronix shown here is fine for musicians:

I wonder how the musicians have managed all these years with their printed Bluetoothless scores. Must really have been tough in Mozart’s day.

  • yes that is correct.

Here , the speed is a little slow. Is there any possibility to raise the Ram requirements?

In the case of Onyx ‘s I86ML + Ram 1 GB , even though the 1600×1200 resolution and get a feeling of speed is a little slow if you will drive the Android App .

If you are worried about the 13.3 inches of buffering it occurs when driving large pdf.

How does this possibility until September or later come the specs up- market ?

Not much of a point. Accidents will happen with iPads as well. Nothing new. Adding a pedal to a pianist who…. uses pedals, is going to lead to further fun issues. Coming from a family of pianists, I have a pretty good idea.

Will it work with Mobilesheetspro? this is a music data base storage, in pdf files, for use on gigs

When I’ve played PDFs off various Tablet PCs at the piano, a simple button touch or page flick was sufficient.

It’s heading in the direction of ideal, but it’s not there. I like many, have large libraries of PDFs with A4 or Letter-sized PDFs that are crying out for a 14.3″ screen at minimum. I’d actually like an A3 screen with a bit of extra on the margin for navigation. If you’re talking about ideal, then let’s make it foldable too.
