ZTE Light Tab 2 Tablet to Debut in the UK and Optik in the US in February

Chinese manufacturer ZTE is out to pamper the western tablet buying crowd with a host of tablet offerings. Like ZTE is readying the Light Tab 2 tablet device for a launch in the UK next month. ZTE isn’t revealing exactly when the tablet will be launched though we are almost into the next month and the wait won’t be too long.

As for the Light Tab 2 specs, its a 1.4 GHz single-core processor that the tablet is based on and will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Also, the tablet features a 0.3 megapixel and 3.2 megapixel front and rear facing camera along with Wi-Fi and 3G as connectivity options. Providing the juice will be a 3,400mAh battery. Lastly, damage done to your wallet will be £235 inclusive of VAT. Converted in USD terms, the price turns out to $365.

Incidentally, ZTE is also planning a Chinese infiltration into the US market with a 7 inch tablet which will be made available via Sprint. The price of the tablet in US would be just $99.99 making it the cheapest Android tablet in the US. Named Optik, the tablet will be up for the taking from Feb 11th though Sprint have it on offer from the 5th itself. Also, the price of $99.99 however comes with an addendum, as its entails agreeing to a 2 year contract with Sprint. The tablet otherwise will come for $349.99.

Specs wise, the Optik will have a 1.2 GHz dual core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory along with a microSD card slot that will allow for extra storage. The tablet will have a front facing 2 megapixel camera and a rear camera of 5 megapixel resolution. The tablet will run Android 3.2 Honeycomb with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth as the standard connectivity options.
