I have a Nook and I have put songs on it and it has the capability to play sound files. It seems like your asking about audio ebooks. Or are you talking about a reader that speaks the written words without it being an audio ebook file? If so I haven't heard of a reader that has that voice tech, what comes to mind are the programs that speak words that are typed. Also the Nook can read pdf files, I think most of the big name brands read pdf as well.

Ah ok cool, first I have heard of hand held readers doing the text to voice interface. Have you heard of the program called Calibre? It is a great free software that can convert the format of an ebook, as long as there is no digital copyright on the file. There is alot that Calibre can do, I highly recommend you getting it. You can organize your ebook library, make any corrections in the ebooks meta data, customize different aspects of the info on the books (like being able to put a section so a book can be marked as read) and more. You can also download dozens if not hundreds of news sources through Calibre itself. One of the coolest things that it does is that if you have a ebook in the wrong format for your reader and try to add it to your reader, Calibre recognizes that it is the wrong format and will automatically convert it to the right format for your reader.

Also if you have any questions on how to use Calibre, if you decide to get it, feel free to make a thread and ask. Or search the forums, either way most here will be more then happy to help.
