*The Girl on the Beach* (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003YCOOTO/?tag=booksontheknob-20), by Charles Todd, is the first of two free pre-orders in the Kindle store store tonight. This one is most likely a new short story or novella in the Bess Crawford Mystery series and will release at the same time as An Impartial Witness ($10.99), the second in the series, on releases Aug 31.*Mysterious Profile #24: Ian Rutledge* (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003YCOOLM/?tag=booksontheknob-20), also by Charles Todd, is the second of two free pre-orders in the Kindle store store tonight. This one releases on October 12 and fits somewhere into the Ian Rutledge series (obviously), but again doesn't appear to be a full novel from that series. I'd bet that it was originally published in the Mysterious Bookshop's newsletter (although I could not find that issue, just the current on that mentions that the Mysterious Profile series is on hiatus). The next release in this series will be A Lonely Death, next January, but it isn't listed at Amazon yet.
