#1- Are these updates for the "white" novel or the "black" novel?

#2- I understand that they are two different models with different systems and require different updates.

#3- How do you know what update (number) is being offered so you can compare it to the one you currently have on your novel?

#4- If an update is made, will all personal settings (email, etc.) be deleted and have to be entered again?

#5- I notice it says the update can be copied to a SD card. How then do you use it to update our novel?

I am told I have the current version.
    I have: RD101-2GB-W
    BN01-08-18-2010-7D
    AN015-08-18-2010-7D

Question can't "see" Goodereader books I downloaded before I updated the PD Novel

After I updated my PDNovel reader I can no longer see the books I had downloaded from GoodEReader. IF I connect my reader to my PC I can see the e-pub files are there, but they are not visible in MyLibrary for me to access. What do I do?

Can't execute download of firmware update (71mb) from Pandigital website. Runs really slow (~16kps), then times out. Suspect the Pandigital website is not robust. Most navigation is pretty slow.

Is there an alternative site for download, that will operatve faster?

    Thanks ..........

Yep, I bought one for my wife. The current firmware version is from S10_08_20. There is a later version but their web site does not respond to the download. Can't get wi-fi to work. Customer service # is also unresponsive. I'll try again tomorrow, if noting works I'm taking it back.

Hello, just found this forum and I'm glad. I almost returned mine for the same reason. Pandigital tech support is currently non-exisistent. Is that the norm? I was finally able to download the firm ware by playing with the serial number recognition, getting it closer to the actual serial number of my device. Problem now is I'm not sure if it was installed as when I held down the two buttons to restart it it seemed to go there then shut off. Does anyone know how I can figure out what firmware version I'm using? How do I find that? Other than that, it seems to be working well. I've been able to download eadobe books as well as set up my email account and the wifi works well, at least at home. Just wished I knew if I have the latest firmware installed or not.

Thanks so much. I do have another question about my Novel. Why does it continue to turn itself back on after I power it off? Is there a way to stop that? I'm trying to save battery life by turning it off when not in use, then I look and see it on again! As I said, I'm keeping it as the pros are greater than the cons for now, but it's the little things (like no tech support) that are making me nuts!

    So, just to clarify:

You can update firmware by connecting your Novel to your PC or using an SD card, right?

The 08-18 firmware is the latest? Or is there a different version?

has anyone successfully updated his/her firmware? What did that look like step-by-step?

    Thanks.
