Default How to play Youtube Videos on the Pandigital Novel 7 and 9 Inch

One thing I’m learning about Android is that there are tens of thousands of apps available and most of them have multiple versions floating around as they are continually updated and improved.

The strange thing I’m finding is that some older versions of certain apps actually work better on some systems than the new updated versions.
Enter exhibit A. The YouTube app. Most versions don’t seem to work on the PocketBook IQ, Pandigital Novel, and similar Android tablets.

Luckily I happened to stumble across a YouTube app from somewhere that works—for the most part—for the IQ, PN, and probably others. It works on a hacked Nook Color too but doesn’t go fullscreen—to fix this problem install a free app called Spare Parts, un-check compatibility mode and reboot.

So here it is at Mediafire. The YouTube Android app that works. Download it and transfer it to your device’s SD card then use the file manager to install it, or you can download the APK using your Android tablet’s web browser for easy installation.
Another option for videos is the Skyfire web browser. It can play YouTube videos and other videos embedded within web pages, but doesn’t work for all videos. The APK for it is available on the Skyfire website and through app sites.

Default how do you install the file using file installer?

I tried to download the attached file youtube-v13.zip through the web browser on pandigital. I don't know where that file goes.

Then I downloaded the file on to my PC, copied to SD card and took it to pandigital. How do I copy this file on to pandigital? There is no file installer as you suggest. I tried to use import SD, but of course, the command only imports videos, books, photos etc. Not a zip file

You can plug in your Novel using the included USB cable. It should show up in My Computer as a removable disc. Copy it to the device's "Download" folder. Then use the file explorer app on the device to navigate to the Download Folder. Tap on the app, and it should open the installer.

I should note that you also have to unzip the .apk file out of the .zip. The installer will only run if it is unzipped.

    Wink Youtube video

I run a pandigital Novel 7" white. I downloaded this file onto my computer, unzipped it, and placed it on the tablet as directed and it worked as it should have. make sure you do not have an SD card in the slot or you will not see the folder you need to put in.

    Thank you for the information

Correct, I had to unzip it in my computer and then copy in the SD card. The unZIP in the tablet was creating a useless file.

Same here. The Youtubev13 app doesn't play jack on my Pandigital 7'' multimedia tablet / color ereader. It just keeps loading and loading. I've tried removing / uninstalling it, doing a hard shut-down, re-installing the app. Again, keep loading video with no results. BUT, it was able to play a video once. The other youtube apk's don't even open properly so...

I used to have another Pandigital 7'' white, just like this one, it could run this app just fine... No idea what's going on.

i tried this and i can see the video come up, but when i try to play it, i get page unavailable.
When downloading the files, I get no supported files. Ideas? I bought 5 of these and trying to get them setup for my boys on Christmas and not having much luck. I would like for them to be able to get to YouTube.
