The Dell Mini 5, AKA the Dell Streak, will reportedly be arriving packing a “newer” version of the Android Operating System!
New details reportedly confirm that the Streak will be shipping with “something newer” than the 1.6 version of Android that's been spotted in previous leaks.
We posted details of the Streak when it first surfaced back in October last year and but aside of confirmation of the updated OS we've heard little in the way of new details.
The Dell spokesperson was apparently unwilling to elaborate on what exactly “something newer” constituted in real terms, but we're thinking that at the very least it will be 2.1 given that Dell has aspirations of Flash support.
Other rumoured specs include a 5-inch (800x480 pixel) touchscreen display, 5-megapixel snapper, Snapdragon processor, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity.
Whilst it's sheer dimensions will put off many people looking for something more pocket friendly, we can't wait to get our hands on a final unit for a full-hands on review.
So far 2010 seems to be shaping up to be 'year of the MID', ever-blurring the distinction between mobile and more traditional computing devices.
