Pandigital upgrade issue--HELP

I inserted an sd card, did the upgrade thing, then turned off and turned back on using the volume+ and the slider...after a few seconds a little green robot and a white triangle with an exclamation point in it appeared. I can not get the ereader to do anything --- can't turn off, tried reset...tried connecting to pc - does not see it. What the heck is this and how do I fix it???

I'm new to any kind of forum, but I'm desperate to repair or roll back my Pandigital Novel to its prior state due to the same type of issue. Yesterday (2/12) I installed the most recent US firmware update (SH20_20110127_K_PD-INX7E_ENG_6410POP) by connecting to my PC and ran into the following successive issues:

1) Upon reboot, Novel display showed the Droid with an exclamation point inside of a triangle.

2) Used a paperclip to reset. The Novel booted very quickly, but that excitement was quickly destroyed.

3) "My library" is gone, there is no B&N bookshelf where you can purchase books, either. There are several new icons (B&N, ES File Explorer, OfficeSuite, SAM), but when selected they all display the error "application not installed...." - INCLUDING the B&N icon. Adobe Digital Editions is also gone. Needless to say, there’s no way to read a book on this ereader.

I tried to download software from B&N and Borders to no avail. I'm not particularly "tech-y," but I would have thought the upgrade would make an ereader better instead of making it a non-ereader. I also tried to re-install the firmware update, but it went into the loop shown above again.

Does anyone have a solution or suggestion? Any assistance would be appreciated.

I did the upgrade took awhile to figure out you have to use es filemanger to add android apks and read books.The BN is different is changed over to the LITE version and loses its manage books on book shelf capabilities that where available with the MY Library icon on the original factory ereader software-I have not found a way to get the orinal version back(was hoping someone would post an apk)anyway for the loss of easy book organizing I found magic doodle(an art drwaing program)and some notepad apks work well just like an ipad. if you see application not installed just run the installation again for some reason you have to do it a couple of times(i pulled my internal sd card out when doing so and it worked with the 2 time installation like the website said.You can always go back to the old factory install too,i've been going back and forth between the 2 versions no problem(bricks)to figure things out

At one time when my reset didnt even work I had to pull the power plug out inside the case for a few seconds and that fixed it

I had the same problem. When I attached my ereader to my computer, it brought up the files that were on my ereader. I found the old firmware file and removed that from my ereader. I rebooted the ereader, the upgrade took place and it's working great. Much better than before.
