On January 31, 2011, Barnes and Noble announced the February More In Store books for Nook owners. Not all of the options are books; some are essays and additional chapters to complement books. If you have a Nook or a Nookcolor, you will see options to download new ebooks and essays from authors when your Nook connects to the Barnes and Noble wi-fi network. Once you see a book pop up on your Nook, download it to your digital locker while you are still in the store. Each work is available for four weeks, and new additions are available to download on Saturdays.

The first February More in Store collections are essays that complement existing books. Patti Smith writes an essay to go with her memoir The Year of the Book, which won the 2010 National Book Award. "You Are Coded to Love" by David Richo is an essay that Barnes and Noble's media email announcement calls a "deleted scene" from Richo's new book, Daring to Trust. Linda Lael Miller writes about her interest in cowboy westerns in her essay "A Look Inside Linda's Passions: Cowboys, Animals and Family." The downloads will be available through March 4, 2011.

The second set of ebook freebies are comedies with Valentine's Day twists. Tweets Between Legendary Lovers by Teresa Medeiros is a Barnes and Noble exclusive. "The Playbook: Valentine's Day Addendum" by Matt Kuhn is a short piece that Barnes and Noble summarizes as ""Suit up. Score chicks. Be awesome." These romantic comedies can be downloaded through March 11, 2011.

"The Seven-Thousand-Word Itch" by Lauren Oliver will be interesting for her teen fans and writers of young adult lit. Lauren Oliver's latest book, Delirium, comes out February 1, 2011, and her essay is about her what it is like to be a young adult literature author. "It's Only Rock 'n Roll (But I Like It)" by Daniel Palmer is about Palmer's experiences as an author and a musician. Palmer's new book, Delirious, comes out February 1, 2011. The books are available to download through March 18, 2011.
Free Nook eBooks Starting February 26, 2011
We Came to Observe You by Tim Dorsey is humor ebook about Dorsey's experiences on book tours. Tim Dorsey's Serge and Coleman novels are about strange events in Florida, so it makes sense that he would have a Barnes and Noble exclusive about strange events that happen on his book tours. Liz Michalski's exclusive, "Meeting Katherine Hepburn" is also a memoir. The essays will be available until March 25, 2011.
You do not need to configure your Nook to work with the Barnes and Noble network; the Nook automatically recognizes and joins to the B&N wi-fi network when you enter Barnes and Noble. Even if you are using a 3G Nook, it will recognize the Barnes and Noble wi-fi system and connect automatically, so you can start downloading books in the store. This is different from Read in Store, which means you can read a book for an hour and then it expires. With More in Store, you can download electronic books and they will stay in your digital media library on your Nook account even after you leave the store.
