Default Open EPUBs with the Nook app?

Hi there, I have installed the Nook app on my Mac and it appears to start up fine. When I choose File > Open and select an EPUB (one that I know is vaild, that Adobe Digital Editions opens fine, for example), I get an alert from the Nook app asking me for my name and credit card number that I used to purchase the book.

But it's not an EPUB that I purchased, it's just a regular EPUB that I downloaded from Feedbooks or created on my own or whatever.

I can't find any info on B&N's site about this. Do you have to have purchased an EPUB from them or an affiliated site (like Sony?) in order to open it in the app? Or maybe do you have to own a Nook?

    thanks!

If it is a NON paid app you do not want to use Adobe Digital Editions, you can straight copy it to your Nook using the file explorer and copy and pasting it to the Nook in the Books or documents folder.
