Default Charging the battery in my Kobo.....

I sent this enquiry to Kobo a few weeks ago, but have not received a reply. I'm wondering if anyone has heard if Kobo will be forthcoming with a portable charger that can either be used in a 110 Volt wall socket or cigarette lighter socket.

My cell phone charger appears to be the same configuration as what is used in the Kobo, but I'm loathe to attempt this.

I'm asking, as my computer will not necessarily be travelling with me and my Kobo.

Your computer USB puts out around 5 volts. So if your cell phone charger has a similar output, then it should work fine.

Have not tried it with a Kobo, but have experimented with car cell-phone chargers on my TomTom satnav..
My TomTom has a Mini USB socket and I first tried a Motorola V3 charger, it was the correct 5Volt output but did not output enough Current for the TomTom to work. My second try was using a Blackberry charger, this delivered the same 5V but at a higher current and works fine with the TomTom..
