Based on the reviews on this site, they seem to be the best choice for multi-function e-readers under $120 dollars. But on amazon.com there are a TON of people complaining that the battery life is less then 3 hours, or that they die after a few weeks, so I'm concerned. Especially the Skytex has a LOT of battery complaints, saying that when playing video it has no battery life whatsoever.

Does anyone have experience with these devices? I want an e-reader, but if the battery is going to die all the functions are useless.

Yeah the Skytex when it runs videos it eats the battery life, but you can simply have it charging if you are going to watch hours of videos. The Libre Air is a basic no frills e-reader but if you want a more multimedia based e-reader take a look at the Pandigital Novel 9 inch, it has solid battery life and can run all sorts of apps. but for 99 the skytex is the best of the bunch in terms of bang for your buck.
