Toshiba has sparked fumes of releasing a tablet device late this year. These devices will be based on the Microsoft Windows 7 platform as well as Google Android.
Jeff Barney, general manager of Toshiba digital products in America, stated that the company is looking into the area of tablet devices that comes with a dual-screen based on Windows platform, at the same time has a 10-inch display slate.
He further added that the new tablet devices will not affect the sale of netbooks although an overlap in terms of functionality is there. Instead this device which will be supported by Android operating system will be come at a lower price than the one which will be based on Windows. Both tablets are aimed for media consumption, i. e. music, online video, e-books, as well as other digitized content.
This rumor is very near to truth as Toshiba backs upon its declarations. As a few years ago, Toshiba till it was a key partner of the tablet developed by Microsoft saw itself launch a Multimedia tablet at the IFA.
