Default Computer does not detect ereader

I have two computers and neither one will detect my reader anymore. I have updated firmware, reset and tried a different cord. Any suggestions?
    Thank you

Are you plugging your USB into the USB port on the front of your computer or the back? Older computers who have front USB often do not have enough power in order to establish a proper connection. Most computers have USB ports on the back of the PC, try plugging into the back of your PC and see if it helps.

Let me know if this works.
