In this edition of the Good e-Reader Radio Show, we drop some digital publishing science on you all! We have news from Overdrive on some new publishers who have signed onto their service, such as Disney and Lonely Planet. We also have a great interview with the Aptara CEO Dev Ganesan on his company’s acquisition by UK based iEnergizer. We give you all the of the news on the deal by both parties to give you the 360° story.
Our feature story for this edition is the new Blackberry Playbook 2.0 update coming out this week or next, and what you can expect from it. If you have a Kindle Fire, or want to access HULU+ or Spotify, you might want to listen to this show. I discuss all of the major facets involving setting up your own VPN to change your computer’s IP address to a USA based one. This allows these services to recognize you as living in the USA and giving you full access to all of their content! You want to try a great software suite called HidemyAss! This is the software package we all use at Good e-Reader in order to show you review videos of the device fully working with all of the content. This is useful if you have Kindle Fire and live outside the USA. Software like VPN’s allow your tablet to use your WIFI connection, but Amazon would see you as living in the USA. You can then access their app store and download other content you would not normally be allowed access to.
Of course, we play songs and run down the other news of the day! It’s a fun show as always, so check it out!
