Amazon has announced that Amazon Music is getting a price hike. Prime members will have to pay $10.99 instead of $9.99 per month for unlimited access to Amazon’s music library. Non-Prime members used to pay $10.99 per month and it will increase to $11.99. Amazon says it’s making the change “in order to bring you even more content and new features.”

The price change went into effect for new subscribers on January 29th,  while existing customers will have to pay the updated pricing when their subscription renews. The last time Amazon increased the price of their music service was in late 2023.

Amazon Music has unveiled a few new initiatives fairly recently. Subscribers can now listen to one audiobook a month from Audible’s catalog of more than 1 million of the most popular and enduring audiobooks in the world. Amazon Delivered reunites with the songs you had on repeat, your most-streamed artists, and the podcasts that fit every mood in 2024. In early 2024 the company announced a new feature that uses AI, to make it easier to explore and discover podcasts.  Topics lets you browse podcast episodes by the topics mentioned in episodes.
