Visionect can be considered among the pioneers when it comes to developing and deploying digital or e-paper-based display solutions. The company recently had a successful outing at the Integrated Systems Europe 2025 (ISE 2025) event held in Barcelona, Spain, where it got the chance to showcase its entire range of e-paper-based display solutions and interact with other industry representatives, prospective clients, and customers.
With over 85,000 attendees to the event, Visionect couldn't have asked for better or higher levels of user engagement. No wonder, its booth has been the hub of activity with hundreds experiencing live demos of the Visionect content management system (CMS) where they got to know first-hand how digital displays, e-paper displays, or E Ink Smart Labels function in real-life conditions.
The company also identified key segments where the Visionect energy-efficient digital signage is expected to make the maximum impact. That includes the education sector and tourist spots like museums where low-power displays can be used for interactive signage or wayfinding solutions. Hospitality is another segment where e-paper displays can have huge applications as such displays can be used for displaying menu items or other information. The obvious benefit here is that such displays are easily customizable and can be done via a cloud-based content management system.
Meanwhile, the CTO for E Ink, Ian French listed out the major advancement that the e-paper displays have made in recent times compared to conventional displays. e-Paper displays have also become more affordable in recent times compared to LCD displays. As Ian French mentioned, the price of e-paper is expected to be halved compared to LCD, something that can lead to wider adoption of e-paper displays in the coming days.
Perhaps the most noteworthy among them is the emergence of color e-paper display which has come onto the mainstream. There have been more e-readers and e-note devices featuring color e-paper displays launched in recent times than ever before. Visionect however stated they will also remain committed to monochrome e-paper displays as well which offer slightly better battery life. As it is, Visionect displays have always been known to be extremely power efficient.
With E Ink continuing to innovate on e-paper displays, they are expected to become more mainstream in the days to come. Visionect seems well poised to cash in on the rising demand and popularity of e-paper displays as they find increasing applications in digital signage solutions, digital wayfinding, public information displays, Electronic Shelf Labels ESL, and so on.
