Android fans in Japan are definitely in for a treat. For not only will they be the first to get hold of the Motorola XOOM – the first Android 3.0 tablet outside of the US, here is another Android tablet all set to invade the Japanese market. Its the ZTE Light Tab and the good things with this tablet is that the Light Tab will be available from the coming Friday itself.
However, the Light Tab might be an early bird compared to the Motorola XOOM but there are a few areas where one will be required to make a few compromises. But then, there are a few gains as well. Like the ZTE Light Tab is based on the slightly older Android 2.2 Froyo and is smaller than the XOOM with a 7 inch 800 x 480 pixel resolution display. Also, with just a 600 MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor inside, the Light Tab is not the fastest tablet around. The tablet includes a 512 MB RAM along with other stuff such as a 3 megapixel webcam, an SD Slot that can accept a maximum of up to 32 GB card at a time along with a 3400 mAh battery. The Light Tab also packs in 3G, Wi-Fi and GPS, all within a 192 x 110 x 12.6 mm form factor. The tablet also scores on mobility with its weight of just 388g.
Head over to b-mobile this Friday along with 39,000 Yen if the above seems enticing enough.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
