Here’s introducing OKPad – a new innovative device that might be mistaken for a small laptop but comes with a twist. While you do have a traditional LCD display as you would with a conventional laptop, there is none of the keyboard thing below. Instead, as eReaderPro stated, what you have is a monochrome E Ink panel that supports stylus operation. You can attach a Bluetooth keyboard and use the OKPad as a regular laptop, with the additional E Ink display used for tasks such as jotting down notes and such.
Unfortunately, we have absolutely no idea about the specifications of the OKPad. There is a single video that the makers have made available on YouTube and which gives us an idea of what the device is going to be like. What is evident right away from the video is its compact dimensions, with the color LCD display measuring 8.9 inches while the E Ink display is even smaller at 7.8 inches. The display can be folded all the way back to make each display function like a tablet device or made to stand upright when placed in tent mode.
The LCD display can be used for making video calls while you can use the e-paper display for making notes. This can be great for education or for research where you browse the web or watch some video and jot down the key point on the e-paper display. The LCD panel can also be wirelessly projected on a monitor if so needed. maybe it would have been better if the laptop packed in slightly larger displays, both LCD and e-paper.
Those behind the OKPad, Bluegen stated the device is set to debut on Kickstarter soon. Stay tuned.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
