TCL has lined up some impressive device launch plans at the upcoming CES 2025 event. As Fonearena stated, TCL plans to unveil NxtPaper 4.0 display tech along with maybe tablet and smartphone prototypes featuring the said display. TCL’s NxtPaper display tech offers the best of both worlds in that it offers the eye-friendly attributes of an e-paper display while retaining all the attributes of conventional displays, which includes support for millions of colors along with a fast refresh rate, enough to support smooth video playback.
A relatively slow refresh rate typically in the range of 10-12 fps at the most along with an inherent lack of support for color happens to be among the biggest drawbacks with e-paper displays. This makes such displays to be largely suitable for showing static content. This is also the reason e-paper displays are ill-suited for watching videos or playing games. None of such limitations with the NxtPaper displays which is akin to the conventional display while still being soft to the eyes.
The company last launched the NxtPaper 14 tablet device featuring a 14.3-inch NxtPaper 3.0 display. Apart from having the above-mentioned attributes, the NxtPaper 14 has markedly less blue light emission. The NxtPaper 3.0 display is also known to be considerably more energy efficient as well compared to regular LCD. The NxtPaper 14 which comes with a rather massive 10,000 mAh battery is rated to last several days on a single charge even after heavy usage.
Under the circumstances, and taking into consideration the impressive performance of the NxtPaper 3.0 display, it is going to be exciting to await the launch of the next generation of NxtPaper 4.0 display technology. Needless to say, the company will also have a few devices at hand to show off the qualities of the NxtPaper 4.0 display as well.
Apart from the above, the company will also have a range of devices to show off during the event. That includes smartwatches, projectors, in-car displays, and RayNeo AR glasses. The company will also have on display it latest range of smart and connected home appliances leveraging the latest advancements in the field of artificial intelligence. Stay tuned for the latest developments here.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
