Reflecting On his recovery, Renner shared, “I certainly got a lot of callousness squashed out of me by that machine… I feel pretty open and wonderfully sensitive and youthful. I’ve been blessed.”
He emphasized a renewed appreciation for life, stating, “I don’t have a bad day anymore. I got pushed to the limits of life and [almost] to my death, and so I find solace in my next breath and my next step.”
The memoir delves into Renner’s physical and emotional transformation, highlighting his journey from the brink of death to a place of gratitude and purpose. He expressed deep appreciation for the support he received, “I had to learn how to receive all this love, and it’s not easy. From people you don’t even know. Why is this accident such a thing?
