Voxblock, the manufacturer of screen-free audiobook player has announced a ‘Stories for Schools’ competition in the UK where the winning school will be offered a Voxblock Mini player along with an assortment of audiobooks that have been carefully selected to complement their educational endeavors, the publication Edinburg News reported. The company said this forms part of its vision of promoting literacy and inculcating a love of storytelling among the young mind.
Voxblock specializes in the development of audiobook player that lacks a screen. The devices do not have any Wi-Fi capabilities and do not require downloads or applications to function. All of this makes the Voxblock devices extremely simple and easy to operate while being dedicated purely for the sake of listening to audiobooks. This, the company believes, will help promote a love for audiobooks without the usual distraction associated with other devices.
“Our goal with ‘Stories for Schools’ is to provide primary schools with a valuable resource that fosters literacy in an engaging, screen-free way,” said Wis Jantarasorn, Sales Director at Voxblock. “We believe every child should have the opportunity to experience the joy of stories, and audiobooks are an excellent tool to support their reading journey.”
The ‘Stories for Schools’ contest is open to primary schools spread across the UK. More specifically, there is going to be a winning school selected from the following regions – Scotland, North England, South England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. To take part, parents, teachers, and school staff can file their nominations. All that they have to do is explain how audiobooks can help bring a change in the way they function, how it can help the students in their education, and how their school is going to benefit from it.
The criteria for deciding the winning school include their commitment to literacy, how they promote reading and listening as part of their curriculum, and how the Voxblock Mini player is going to be beneficial to the school. Entries are going to be accepted till March 31, 2025. Winners will be announced in April 2025 while the prizes delivered soon thereafter.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
