Rakuten Kobo has just opened an official storefront on Amazon US. They are directly selling their latest generation e-readers such as the Kobo Clara BW, Clara Coluor, Libra Colour and the Elipsa 2e. Official accessories are sold too, such as cases, styluses and extra nibs.
This is the first time that Kobo is selling e-readers and accessories in the United States since their failed Walmart initiative a couple of years ago. However, Kobo has always sold hardware to customers in the US directly on their website, but most people shop on Amazon anyways.
I think it makes sense to buy on Amazon, instead of Kobo themselves. You get faster shipping and easier returns, returning something on the Kobo website requires customers to jump through a lot of hoops.
