How about a sleek little desktop device featuring an E Ink display which shows the tracks you are playing on Spotify. DIY artist Anoraker has just such a device to share, one that features a Raspberry Pi that creates magic when combined with a Pimorani color e-paper display. Perhaps the best thing with the Spotify player here is that it is super easy to setup.

As xda-developers stated, all that you have to do is attach the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W to the Pimoroni Inky Impression E-ink display along with the other requisite wiring. The best part here is that there is no need for any soldering to be done, which greatly simplifies things. The case used has been 3D printed. There is no screws or adhesives used either. Once the display has been placed within its slot, the rear is just pushed in. That is almost all that you need to do with the hardware part of it.

Of course, codes have a lot to do with projects of this type, though fortunately, all of it has been provided. That way, there is no need for you to write even a single line of code, even though if you know a bit of coding, you can always customize the thing to suit your specific preferences or requirements.

“I built this project because I wanted a stylish, low-power way to display my current track without needing to glance at my phone or keep a music app open on my computer. E-Ink displays are perfect for this: low refresh rates, no backlight, and a super modern aesthetic,” said Anoraker.

“The best part? It’s plug-and-play once set up. No soldering, no complicated wiring—just code, components, and a little bit of magic. If you’ve got a Raspberry Pi and a Spotify account, you’re already halfway there.”

There are four buttons on the side that are programmed to perform different tasks. For instance, the top button is for playing the next track while the second button is for playing the previous track. The third button serves play/pause functionality while the fourth button is for changing the playlist.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
