Tearing down gadgets is one of the favorite activities of those at ifixit. While manufacturers will surely detest such an act, there is no denying it reveals the things that make up the interior of our favorite gadgets. So it just natural for them to have come across a change that Apple has introduced discreetly in the new batch of iPad 2s.
All iPad and the latest gen iPad 2 (at least the initial batches for the ipad 2) came equipped all along with a display driver IC ourced from LG. Labeled ‘SW0627B’, the display driver seems to have lost favor with Apple as its a Wise-View chip now in operation in the current batch of iPad 2s. No body known for sure since when the behind-the-scene change as introduced or what prompted the change in the first place. More so since there were no known issues with the LG drivers. The current Wise-View chips are likely to be a Samsung product though here too, its also mere speculation. From the user’s perspective too, there are nothing to let them known of the swap that has taken place about which not many have been aware of.
Rumor mills though point out its something got to do with he new iPad that Apple plan to launch this fall and which is touted to come with significantly enhanced display qualities.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
