We just covered the official launch of Research in Motions highly anticipated Blackberry Playbook Tablet at the Devon conference in San Francisco. On stage after the main event was our friends at Kobo, who have partnered with RIM to provide a E-Reading social service for the device!
Kobo will be integrating an e-reading service using the core elements of the popular Blackberry Messenger application or BBM. This will prove to make the application social and in real time. It will allow you to share book passages with friends, shop with friends, read with a group of people, and discuss the book in real time!
Although this application will likely not debut with the RIM Playbook at the official December launch of this year, it will be polished and complete around January or Feburary of 2011.
