All of this is still unconfirmed though there has been some developments on the Nook front that is suggesting the update to Android Froyo for the Nook Color is coming soon. In fact, it might be as soon as Monday the 25th of April itself. At least, a few forum posts made by some Barnes & Noble employees is suggestive of this.
Like some employees revealed they are to receive training for the new app store that will be up on Monday. Now the update is also expected to open up the Nook Color to quite a few apps as well as introduce an app store like client from which users can buy and install apps on their Nook Colors. So it will be perhaps safe to assume the Android Froyo is indeed coming to the Nook Color.
Then there also has been some interesting changes in the Barnes & Noble website as well as they are no longer referring to the Nook Color as an e-reader. Instead, it is now being called ‘The Reader’s Tablet.’ Not surprising since if Android Froyo is coming to the Nook Color, it would be more of a tablet than an e-reader. With a lot more apps at its disposal, it will be capable of a lot more tasks other than being only a medium to read books.
Also, with Nook Color being formally adjudged as a tablet device, it would likely to be a culmination of the hacking efforts that had been on in full swing ever since it was introduced. The Nook Color had already been the hottest selling tablet device after the iPad, having sold more than 3 million units in less than a year since it was launched. Now with the Nook Color formally entering the tablet sphere, its likely to be more of a hit than ever before.
Home Shopping Network had first stated last month of the Nook Color getting Android Froyo update with it being them to first receive the Nook Color Froyo. There is still no information though if that is how things are going to pan out with the updated Nook Colors.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
