Things seem to be settling down with the iPad 3 as its intended launch period draws closer. Now there is further news coming from Apple’s traditional China/Taiwan manufacturing base with reports coming in of Apple actively considering the addition of a second manufacturer for the latest iteration of the iPad. The new iPad 3 or iPAD HD+ is expected to make it to the market by September while the Taiwan based Quanta Computer or Petagron Technology likely to emerge as the other manufacturer in addition to Foxconn Electronics once orders start streaming in.
Until now, Foxconn Electronics has acted as the sole company where final assembly of the iPad series of tablets took place. However, an explosion and subsequent fire that left 3 dead and several more injured has forced Apple to seek a second manufacturing base to minimise the risk of depending on only one manufacturer. In this, its Petagron that may be considered to have the lead as the Taiwan based company has already landed itself the mega iPhone 5 orders.
Apart from these, there is also speculation that the new iPad might not be designated iPad 3 after all. Instead, the upcoming iPad might just be called iPad 2 plus to indicate its evolution over the current iPad 2. The new iPad or iPad 2 plus is expected to sport several improvements over the current iPad 2, which includes an enhanced display along with an even thinner profile.
Keep watching as more emerges on this.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
