The rain gods have been generous in most parts of India this year though there is also a different kind of rain that the Indians are having to contend with. Its raining tablets and its raining cats and dogs.
The latest to join the growing list of tablet manufacturers in India is Beetel which happens to be a subsidiary of Bharti Enterprises. However, everything is being kept under wraps as of now with the only few aspects of the upcoming tablet that has pilfered out are this: the tablet will be in the 7 inch category and will run Android 2.2 Froyo. The last bit is surely disappointing as its Android 3.2 Honeycomb that is fast getting associated with 7 inch tablets elsewhere in the world. Let’s just hope better sense prevails over those in charge of the project.
Bettel boffins though have said its the budget segment they are eying at and will make sure the tablet isn’t too hard on the wallet.
“It will have Android 2.2 Operating System. It will be sold at a very affordable price,” said Mr Rahul Mahajan, Head of Mobile Business of Beetel Teletech.
There is no word though as what the expected price tag the tablets would sport though Rahul Mahajan did say they are here for the long run with more tablets to be launched in future.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
