The Blackberry Playbook just got a new firmware update today that should be pushed to most people’s QNX based tablets. The main feature is the ability to make in-app purchases and the support for micro-transactions. Blackberry changed the name of its App store to Blackberry World, and this new name has been carried over as well.
If you tend to use Blackberry Bridge on your tablet, to access your phones emails and data on your Playbook, there is some good news. You will now be able to chat via SMS right on your Playbook, something you could not do in the past. If you find yourself using Yahoo or Gmail, there is a number of new improvements to the “email setup” feature. Finally, there is a number of browser improvements and more refined audio.
Remember, if you are looking for apps not available in Blackberry World, on your Playbook or Z10, check out the Good e-Reader Playbook and BB10 App Store.
