With the Apple iPad up and available for sale now, the thing that iPad owners are perhaps having uppermost in their mind is to choose those apps that can be of real help to them from among the hundreds and thousands currently available and with more pouring in almost everyday. Well, here are five applications that can make your task easier and which can be classified as must haves for iPad owners. Here they are.
Work suite: To make optimum use of the large touch-screen Apple has come out with their own version of an application that should give a boost to productivity related tasks. Called iWork, this suite consists of a word processing application called Pages; a spreadsheet called Numbers: and Keynote for making presentations. Each of these application costs $9.99. The applications cater for manipulation by touch rather than use of mouse and are therefore best suited for creating documents while on the move or even applying last minute correction to documents before a meeting.
Wolfram Periodic Table: One of the most awesome applications for the mobile lovers and users. Stephen Fry has even gone on to add that this is one reason for people to use the iPad as a mobile gadget. This application is created by the same people who had created the computational search engine Wolfram Alpha. One gets the right combination of beauty and brain in this application which deals with the periodic table of the elements and is packed with essential info.
Scrabble: Makes use of not only the iPad’s own large screen dimension to display the board but the application even allows connecting to an iPhone or iPod and using that gadget as the rack for storing the tiles. To play the game using the multiple devices connected to each other wirelessly is indeed fun.
Marvel App: Reading comics and illustrated novels could not be more exhilarating an experience but for this application. The interface is similar to that of the iBook and therefore needs just a tap on the screen to flip through the comic of choice or download content even while on the move.
Mixr: A treat for music lovers, this app makes mixing, cross fading, adding delays and the lot of such things possible on the iPad. Apps that enable multimedia playing and viewing are already hugely popular in the iPhone and iPod touch. This has been further extended on the iPad and is all the more laced with exciting flavor with this application. It will bring out the DJ in you that you thought never existed.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
