Recently CEO of Notion Ink Rohan Shravan conducted an interview with Notion Ink Addicts on some important details regarding what Adam owners can expect from the official services that NI will be providing, as well as some future tidbits.
It looks like for content starved people looking for applications, books, movies and music will be launched around the middle of February. Otherwise he implores the users to download content from other websites. Although this may be a tall order for average users who do not know where to download applications other then the official Google Android Market. The Adam of course does not have access to the market yet, but if you ROOT your device, you can download to your hearts content.
The Adam does come with a rather lackluster music player, that also should be coming down the pipe with an update soon, the CEO reports. One of the benefits of the current Adam music player is that it automatically downloads cover art.
Rohan also mentioned on the official WordPress blog recently that the final orders for the first round of pre-orders will be shipped out in the next few days and emails are being sent to the people who have ordered them. The Reason of the delay was due to “one of our shipments for the touch screens got damaged while transportation which is going to effect a fraction of our customers. To make things worse, its New Year in China and every manufacturing plant is closed. But our touch-screen partners, Sinotek (also known as Sintek), will stay open for the Chinese New Year and re-manufacture all the remaining touch screens to deliver. I am making this special note, because we are really overwhelm at their response and want to thank all the employees at their firm who are going to miss their New Year celebrations and home visits.”
One burning question that has not been addresses and has met with some ire from a ton of customers, is the return policy. There is a current 7 day return policy with an Adam purchase, but many users are finding reaching the company is next to impossible and lots of emails are going unanswered. Hopefully this will be sorted out, if returning is not an option check out selling on eBay.
