Hanvon, the largest e-Reader company in China, was accepting bids from various component makers for a new Tablet PC they want to develop. Pegatron outbid the competition and now has the exclusive contract to develop a new device for Hanvon.
Although Hanvon is known for its ebook readers, this year they have released a few tablet computers aimed at a business audience. They launched the Touchpad B10 and the B20, which were China exclusives.
Pegatron is a good candidate for Hanvon’s new tablet because they now have some experience developing them. Pegatron has been shipping to clients such as Toshiba and HTC in the last few weeks. These new units are set to launch in early 2011, and there is no word yet on the system specs of the new Havon Tablet.
