French company Archos has just taken the wraps off of their new $200 Honeycomb internet tablet! The new ARCHOS 70b IT is an enhanced version of the ARCHOS 70 IT Gen 8 that features an upgraded capacitive touch screen and a powerful processor at 1.2 GHz.
The Archos 70b features a 7 inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1024×600. The RAM has doubled from previous models and clocks in at 512 MB and has a 1.2 GHZ processor.
One of the good things it has going for it is the HDMI in order to hook it up to your TV or projector. It also has the standard WIFI connection for internet browsing and the company hypes the browser has undergone a revision for speed.
The ARCHOS 70b internet tablet will be available in stores starting in January with the recommended retail price of $199. Honestly we will get a full hands on at CES so you can make sure to check out our impressions before you drop some money on this. Archos does not really have a great track record with their devices and are considered the “low end” of the spectrum.
