Samsung announced its color e-paper display has been awarded the Best Product Award at the recently concluded Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2025 event, BusinessKorea reported. Held in Barcelona, Spain, ISE happens to be Europe’s largest display exhibition. Global AV media such as AV Technology and Digital Signage Magazine did the judging. Samsung said its innovative e-paper display solution was on top on three counts – digital signage, installation, and AV technology.

One of the most significant advantages of the Samsung Color E-Paper is its ability to operate with absolutely zero power requirement. This is owing to e-paper display technology, which consumes zero power if the image is static. It only consumes power when the image changes, which is a minuscule amount compared to conventional digital displays. Thus, e-paper displays are exceptionally environmentally friendly.

This also makes e-paper displays relevant today, where energy efficiency and sustainability are top priorities. This is even more true in an environment-conscious market such as Europe. Samsung’s use of recycled plastic in developing more than half of the Samsung Color E-Paper display further helps its cause. Moreover, the display packaging is made entirely of paper, with zero plastic used.

The Samsung Color E-Paper display showcased at the ISE event is the largest e-paper display ever produced. At 75 inches, it comprehensively beats the previous largest, the 32-inch Philips Tableaux 5150I. The display has a 16:9 aspect ratio and 5K resolution, which makes it a very effective replacement for paper posters, menus, or other advertisement materials. The 5000 mAh battery onboard powers the display, which can be recharged via the twin USB-C ports.

A mobile app supports the display and offers functionalities such as remote content management, scheduling content display cycles, managing sleep-wake timings, etc. The Samsung VXT (Visual eXperience Transformation) ensures optimum content visibility and accuracy. The display also supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity. The 8 GB of storage onboard can be used to store the content meant to be displayed.

“For commercial displays, it is crucial to address the market’s demand for energy efficiency and simple device management, while at the same time meeting the public’s desire for immersive experiences,” said Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.

“Our latest innovations, including the near-zero power Samsung Color E-Paper and advanced AI capabilities brought by all the models showcase our commitment to pioneering new markets and providing transformative business solutions worldwide.”

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
