Hanvon has just released its Clear7 Turbo+ e-reader in China. This device supports both Chinese and English for the UI and accommodates a wide range of e-book formats, making sideloading English content a beneficial feature. It is available as pre-order on JD and costs around USD 219.99.
The Hanvon Clear7 Turbo+ features a 7-inch EINK Carta 1300 e-paper display with a resolution of 1264×1680 with 300 PPI. The display is also based on a full-lamination process. It supports 256 levels of grayscale. The design is a Kindle Oasis clone, with the same physical page-turn buttons in the same place and the asymmetrical design on the back. It has both warm and cool lighting, and a layer of glass protects the screen.
Underneath the hood is a Qualcomm quad-core CPU with 2.0 GHZ, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. There is no SD card on this model. You can listen to audiobooks, music, and podcasts with wireless headphones via Bluetooth 5.0, and it features Wi-Fi for internet browsing, a USB-C port for charging, and is powered by a 2,700 mAh battery. The dimensions are 155 x 135 x 3.9 mm, and it weighs 175g.
It runs Google Android 14 and comes preloaded with a variety of Chinese apps. It does not have Google Play, but users can sideload their apps or use alternative app stores. It is possible to load your own e-books, which support DJVU, TXT, HTM, HTML, EPUB, PDF, CHM, MOBI, FB2, AZW, AZW3, and various Microsoft Office formats.
