Asus has come up with the tool needed to unlock the Transformer Pad Infinity’s bootloader. This should come as a welcome piece of news for those who want to run custom ROM on their devices and do things with their Infinity Pad device that Asus would generally not recommend. However, this freedom comes at a price, as Asus has made it clear it won’t be taking any responsibility if all the adventures with the tablet turns into a disaster. Asus has even made it mandatory to register the devices before proceeding with the unlocking process. Also, downloading the 613KB file is a one way journey. Once the device has been unlocked, there is no way to get it back to the original settings.
Another piece of caution that has to be kept in mind is that the bootloader unlocking tool seems to be applicable only for the Transformer Pad Infinity running Android 4.0 ICS and not Jelly Bean. What this means is that those eager to unlock their Transformer Infinity shouldn’t download the Jelly Bean update when it is made available.
The Transformer Pad Infinity is one of the best Android tablets that you can buy right now and had gone on sale in the US mid July, with more countries to be included later on.
You can download the unlocking tool from here.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
