Amazon is hoping to disrupt the educational market with their new Education Wait List program. The Seattle company is looking to sell course materials with a new website they are launching an are looking for schools and teachers to sign up.
The message on the website says “Someday soon, educators everywhere will have free and unlimited access to first-class course materials from a revolutionary platform.” Right now, there aren’t many details beyond that, but Amazon is said to be planning to let educators upload, manage and share education materials through the service.
It is currently unknown if Amazon will incorporate that digital textbook marketplace into this new venture. Many people are unaware, but Amazon sells and rents e-textbooks.
