Andy Serkis was the voice of Gollum in all of the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies. He did a marathon reading back in May and has been tapped to narrate a new Hobbit audiobook, published by HarperCollins. It will be published this September and narration fees will be donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee, and Harper Collins is going to match it.
The Hobbit focuses on Bilbo as he joins the wizard Gandalf and a company of dwarves to retrieve their treasure from the dragon Smaug. The book inspired a trilogy of films helmed by Peter Jackson, who also directed the three Lord of the Rings film adaptations.
