Here is something that might not be known to many. Audible has a feature that allows you to return your audiobooks and get your credit back. You can then re-use that credit against another audiobook of your choice. As Kris Henges of How-To-Geek mentioned, the feature is available on the ‘Purchase History’ page. There, when you click on any title you have purchased, you will see the ‘Return this title’ option among several others. Click on it to get the credit you used to acquire the title. It is as simple as that.
The feature, however, will only be available to members of the Audible Premium Plus plan. That is obvious, as you can only get one monthly credit to purchase any audiobook you choose with this plan. You have 365 days to return the book and get your credit back. You then have 12 months to use it to buy another audiobook. Otherwise, the credit will expire if not used within the 12 months.
It must be said that the time to return an audiobook or reuse the credit is decent enough. A year should be enough to go through the longest of audiobooks or a series comprising several titles unless you have a massive backlog. Similarly, 12 months is ample time to decide to buy another title. You might even opt to hold on to it if you know an audiobook is set for launch sometime in the future and is worth waiting for.
Further, you can only return an audiobook in the web version of Audible via a browser. The feature isn’t available on the Audible app for reasons best known to Audible.
So, if you have an audiobook that you wish you could return, you should be able to do so now. However, this feature also leaves ample scope for misuse. Anyone can buy an audiobook, listen to it, maybe several times over, and then return it within the stipulated one-year time span. You then have another year to use the credit; thus, you return it to buy another audiobook.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
