Apple Pay is now available in Canada at Chapters/Indigo. This payment system allows people with an Apple Watch, iPhone 6 or iPhone 6S to buy books and other items. Unfortunately, the only credit card participating in the Apple Pay program in Canada is American Express.
Sources told the Globe and Mail that Apple’s negotiations with Canadian banks were dragging on, and that the company decided to proceed with AmEX instead of waiting any further. This is why more popular credit card companies such as Visa and Mastercard are not available.
