Barnes and Noble has just announced that the new Harry Potter and Cursed Child screenplay is their most pre-ordered book ever. The bookseller has not disclosed how many units were sold. It is also the most pre-ordered written work sold on Amazon.
The book of the play is set for release at midnight July 31 and the play, presented in two parts, opens in London’s West End July 30. The story picks up where the “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” epilogue left off, 19 years after Harry Potter’s final year at Hogwarts.
I think many people are expecting this to be a novel, the first since 2007. Sadly, this is a screenplay and I think many people are going to be leaving some very angry 1 star reviews on August 1st.
