Welcome to another edition of the top stories of the week. There has been lots of news happening in the industry, and here are some bite-sized stories that have not warranted a dedicated article on Good e-Reader.

Shueisha’s MANGA Plus digital manga app and service has added Yoichi Takahashi’s original soccer manga series Captain Tsubasa. All manga chapters will be free to read for one week, from April 6, 2025, until April 12, 2025.  This marks the first time Captain Tsubasa will receive an English release. A bilingual edition in Japanese and English was previously released for the “eOneBook” reader device in September 2020.

Sask. mushroom pickers sound alarm on dangerously misleading AI-generated books on Amazon. Amazon says it has removed the books after being contacted by the CBC.

The Amazon Editors have posted their top non-fiction book picks for April. They also gave some recommendations on the best new books on Kindle Unlimited.

Five years after it gave up on its iBooks Author app, Apple is now removing the ability for Pages to send books straight to the Apple Books store.

Remarkable announced in early May that their writing slates and accessories will all increase in price. How much will they now cost? Further details are to come in late April.

Barnes & Noble has a ton of spring sales on many great things. Popular LEGO sets are marked down 25%, books are on sale, and even Blu-rays and DVDs are getting discounts. Visit their sales promotion page to capitalize on all the deals.

Barnes & Noble is taking over the former Bed Bath & Beyond space in Columbus. It will be a smaller store and feature the state’s first new concept store.
