Amazon is rolling out a new program called @authors that give users a chance to talk to the authors of the books they are reading directly from their Kindle. Not only can you ask questions or just shoot the breeze with your favourite writers, but you can also talk with them on their author page too. This program is only limited to people who have purchased the book on Amazon and other users can also answer your questions provided they have bought the same book.
Right now 12 authors have signed up for the limited Beta program and include such notable figures as; J.A. Konrath, Timothy Ferriss, John Locke, Â and Ted Dekker.
So how does this program work on your Amazon Kindle? You can simply place your cursor at the beginning of a passage that you would like to ask the author a question about. You want to anchor the text by highlighting it and then using the phrase @author. Any questions you want to ask are limited to only 100 characters, so please don’t try and write an essay type response! Finally click Save and Share and you are good to go.
