BookCon used to be apart of Book Expo America and split off into its own antonymous entity in 2014. It is normally a one day event that focuses on having a number of authors do book signings, pose for pictures and interact with their readers. It has just been announced that BookCon will be apart of the New York Comic Con from October 6th to 9th.
Guests for BookCon @ NYCC will include children’s author Ann M. Martin (The Baby-Sitter’s Club series, Missy Piggle-Wiggle and the Whatever Cure), YA sensation Danielle Paige (Dorothy Must Die, Stealing Snow), R.L. Stine (Goosebumps, Young Scrooge: A Very Scary Christmas Story), Chuck Wendig (Star Wars: Aftermath), and Naomi Novik (Uprooted, theTemeraire series).
Publishers such as Gallery, Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group, Bloomsbury, Del Rey and others, will also be exhibiting. Gallery will also showcase the new Millennials of New York book by Connor Toole and Alec Macdonald. Created by the top editors at Elite Daily, Millennials of New York is a satirical social media phenomenon in the photo essay style of Humans of New York that parodies the plights of millennials today such as waiting for a brunch table or taking the perfect selfie.
