Over the course of the past six months Dutch e-book sales have been strong. During the 2nd quarter the digital format increased by 9% over the same period last year and in Q3 2016 sales have increased another 10%.
The Netherlands bookselling industry has sold 39 million books in the last twelve months and 6.4% of them have been e-books. To give you a sense on how far the Dutch e-book market has come, in 2014 e-books only accounted for 0.6% of total trade sales.
