JibJab has launched a new iPad application that allows the your child to be the leading character! It allows parents to upload a picture of their child and their head is superimposed on the main character in the story. This allows for prospectively deeper immersion in the book and inspires a greater level of interactivity.
The new application exclusively for the iPad, entitled “The Biggest Pizza,” is a free app from iTunes. You can then enter a number of things such as; name, gender, skin tone, and post a picture of your kids face. Once you do all of that, the character in the game is perfectly animated and looks great! The crux of the story is about a pizza chef and his pizza creation is so large and ambitious that it threatens to take over the whole town.
Children are obviously riveted by the fact that it’s them interacting within the story and many people we talked with are totally enamoured with this game. It was among the highest grossing iPad apps last week and the kids wanted more!
The company is capitalizing on the recent success and limelight their app is getting, and are rushing to develop more! They will have a new one coming out at the end of September.
